Community Electric Cooperative (CEC) is lighting up more than homes and businesses this year. In a heartwarming partnership with Meals on Wheels, CEC is launching an initiative that promises to bring a wave of joy and community spirit well before the holiday season officially begins. This initiative is not just a competition but a celebration of giving, teamwork, and community involvement.
Starting July 1st, the halls of CEC will buzz with excitement as employees, grouped into five teams, embark on a mission to support the incredible work of Meals on Wheels. The competition, running through November 6th, isn’t just about winning a prize – it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of the community.
The Challenge:
Every team, led by a determined captain, will rally to complete a list of items needed by Meals on Wheels. With the clock ticking towards the November 6th deadline, teams will strategize, collaborate, and pull in resources, including friends, family, and even local businesses, to ensure their list is completed.
But the challenge doesn’t stop there. Additional entries can be earned by purchasing extra items, such as paper towels and reams of printing paper. It’s a game of heart, where every item collected translates to more meals delivered to those in need.
A Community Effort:
Jessica Parr, the manager of communications at CEC, beams with pride as she speaks about the initiative. “We are incredibly excited about this partnership with Meals on Wheels,” she says. “This initiative not only allows us to give back to our community but also strengthens our team dynamics and spirit. We look forward to seeing the creativity and enthusiasm our teams bring to the table.”
And it’s not just about the employees. CEC is extending an invitation to the entire community to get involved. Local businesses, organizations, and residents are encouraged to join the effort, whether by joining alongside a team to find donors or donating items themselves. It’s a collective effort that embodies the true spirit of the holidays – giving, caring, and coming together for a greater cause.

Meals on Wheels has long been a pillar of support in the community that CEC serves, ensuring that seniors and other vulnerable individuals receive nutritious meals and essential human connections. By partnering with Meals on Wheels, CEC aims to amplify this impact, ensuring that no one is left hungry or lonely during the festive season.
The excitement culminates on November 6th, with prize drawings where two winning teams will each receive for every participating member. But the real prize? The joy and fulfillment of knowing that their efforts have brought smiles and sustenance to countless faces.
