Community Electric Cooperative has announced the promotion of Windsor native Paul Garris to RECORE Operations Supervisor effective June 1st. In his new capacity, Garris will continue to help drive the growth and effectiveness of CEC’s energy solutions subsidiary.
“We are very pleased that Paul has accepted this new challenge,” RECORE Director of Operations Glen Presson said. “During his five years with us, Paul has worked extremely hard to serve our members and all of RECORE’s customers with the highest level of professionalism. I am confident that Paul’s experience and dedication will serve our cooperative well in advancing RECORE operations.”
Garris’s joined CEC as an Energy Management Advisor following a career that included more than nine years with the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. One of the highlights of his RECORE tenure has been earning a fuel pipe tradesman license in North Carolina in 2024 to help RECORE better manage the growing demand for services in the Tar Heel State. To pass the licensing exam, Garris spent dozens of hours studying, at the conclusion of his regular work day, for a period of months.
