Windsor, VA (February 3, 2026) – Community Electric Cooperative today announced the launch of the Electric Cooperative Marketplace, an online platform that allows members-owners to purchase energy-efficient products with instant, automated discounts.
Designed to make energy-saving solutions more accessible and affordable, the Marketplace offers a wide selection of approved products, helping households take control of their energy use and monthly expenses.
“Our member-owners count on us every day for the energy they need,” CEC President and CEO Steven A. Harmon said. “Our fundamental responsibility is to deliver reliable power to homes while keeping bills as low as possible, and the Electric Cooperative Marketplace is one more way we’re helping people do that.”
The Marketplace features a wide range of products designed to address common sources of household energy use, including smart thermostats that help reduce unnecessary heating and cooling, energy-efficient LED lighting, smart power strips that cut down on standby energy use, water-saving devices, weatherization products, and ENERGY STAR® certified solutions for home comfort and efficiency. Products are selected to help members save energy and money. Marketplace features the convenience of products mailed to your home and lower prices than retail.

Energy efficiency programming is a foundational part of how Community Electric, in collaboration with its wholesale power provider ODEC, keep costs down for the members we serve. By reducing overall energy use and peak demand, these tools, provided with the support of ODEC, help control long-term costs—because the lowest-cost megawatt is the one that never has to be generated.
