Community Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the three recipients of our 2024 Youth Scholarship Program. After careful consideration, we are thrilled to award the scholarship to Will Partin from Stonebridge School in Suffolk, Jailyn Snipe from Lakeland High School in Suffolk, and Ava Joyner from Suffolk Christian School in Windsor. These outstanding students were selected for their commitment to our community, academic excellence, and enthusiasm for participating in our Youth Program.
The Youth Scholarship Program, introduced in 2024, includes three impactful events combined with a single application process. Each of these students will attend the following events to fulfill the requirements for their $1,000 academic scholarship and to direct a $500 donation to a local 501(c)(3) organization of their choice within our service area:
- Day in the Life of a Lineman: February 25th
- Virginia Institute on Cooperative Education (VICE): March 21-23
- Youth Tour: June 16-20
These students demonstrated exceptional dedication to their education and their communities, and we are excited to watch them grow through this program.
